Jalapeño Pretzel Dogs
Jalapeño Pretzel Dogs are the perfect addition to your game day feast! You’ll score the winning goal with these easy to make favorites!
I really love preparing a variety of foods when we’re homegating, something for everyone. Everything from dips, cold and hot (you know I love using my slow cooker) to finger foods. Today I’m sharing with you a fantastic addition to game day menus, Jalapeño Pretzel Dogs! Hot dogs and sporting events seem to go hand in hand, am I right? You’ll just love this twist on a traditional hot dog. Jalapeño Pretzel Dogs are easy to prepare and let me tell you, my sons devoured them.
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
- 12 hot dogs
- 3 T baking soda
- water
- 5 oz. French's Crispy Jalapeños, crushed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add hot dogs and boil for 3 minutes. Remove hot dogs and allow to cool.
- Roll out pizza dough and cut into 12 - 1/2 inch strips lengthwise.
- Spread crushed Jalapeños in pie dish.
- Place one cup of the boiling water from the hot dogs into a bowl big enough to fit hot dogs. Add baking soda and stir until dissolved.
- Wrap each hot dog with one strip of dough, twisting it around and back. Leave a 1/2 inch space at each end.
- When hot dogs are wrapped, carefully dip each into water mixture being sure to cover.
- Gently roll each hot dog in crushed Jalapeños and place on baking sheet.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes until browned on top.
Notes
If you have leftover dough, make some easy breadsticks by simply twisting and baking on baking sheet.
